Where do we find strength to run this race of life with endurance and finish strong?
“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” ~Hebrews 10:36
“We are not of those who shrink back and perish, but are among those who believe and gain possession of their souls.” ~Hebrews 10:39
We are of “those who believe.” Now is the time to run our race in truth, with confidence. Unheeded anxiety, self doubt, insecurity, carnality and sin will undermine and sabotage our effort to run the race with confidence, strength and endurance.
It is time for the “body of Christ” believers everywhere to train, trust and triumph! We have a proven race strategy: follow the footsteps of Jesus and go in with confidence. What a legacy we have as children of God following the leadership example of Jesus and all of the faithful who have run before us.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and the perfecter of faith.” ~Hebrews 12:1,2
As the Apostle Paul said and did, we too can finish strong and keep the faith!
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” ~2 Timothy 4:7,8
We are running to obtain the prize!
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.” ~I Corinthians 9:24
We are of those who believe. The baton has been passed to us. We must keep running! In Mark 16:15, Jesus said, “Go into the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” We are commissioned by God, sent ones, on a divine mission. We can cross the finish line and obtain the prize. Now is not the time to quit!
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” ~Galatians 6:9
Billy Mills believed he would finish the race and run it well to win. So must we believe. Our Lord is cheering us on and we must reach for his hand, keep running and cross the finish line. We will finish strong! We are of those who believe.
